How Much Does a Sprinter Van Cost?

Understand Sprinter purchase prices, the current base MSRP example, options, conversion costs, and how to compare complete out-the-door quotes.

A Sprinter price depends on the model, body, drivetrain, options, and whether it includes a conversion. As checked on September 19, 2026, Mercedes-Benz advertises a U.S. 2026 Sprinter WORKER cargo starting MSRP of $48,990; a finished camper or luxury shuttle is a different purchase.

Start with the right price category

The Mercedes-Benz cargo-van page lists different configurations and starting prices. A base MSRP is not an out-the-door quote. Check destination charges, dealer-installed equipment, taxes, title, registration, and any financing terms separately.

A high roof, longer body, different weight class, AWD, and comfort or assistance equipment can change the price. A photograph of a heavily optioned van may accompany an advertisement showing a less expensive starting model.

Compare written quotes line by line

Ask each seller for the VIN or exact build specification, selling price, mandatory charges, optional add-ons, and total due. If trading a vehicle, compare the trade allowance separately so a favorable-looking discount does not hide a weak trade offer.

Use the same roof, wheelbase, drivetrain, and equipment when comparing dealers. Two vans described only as “Sprinter 2500” may have materially different specifications.

A simple total-budget example

Suppose a hypothetical negotiated van price is $55,000, taxes and registration total $4,000, and necessary equipment costs $6,000. The initial project is $65,000 before financing charges, insurance, and future maintenance. Those are planning inputs, not a quote for a specific van.

For a conversion, clarify whether the advertised amount includes the chassis. A $60,000 conversion package plus a separately purchased van is not a $60,000 completed camper.

New versus used

New vehicles can offer known history and applicable warranty coverage. Used vehicles can reduce initial cost but may need catch-up maintenance, tires, or repairs. Obtain an independent inspection and compare total readiness cost rather than purchase price alone.

Decide affordability before negotiating

Budget insurance, service, storage, fuel or charging, and a repair reserve. A monthly payment can be reduced by extending the loan without making the vehicle cheaper overall. Evaluate the complete purchase and operating plan before choosing the most attractive advertised payment.
